
The Johnson advantEDge Institute is led by Dr. Janice M. Johnson. Dr. Johnson is an accomplished business performance, leadership, transformational change, and Lean Six Sigma Deployment expert with more than 20 years of experience. Dr. Johnson has led numerous cross-functional and international teams, and she has delivered cost savings, reduced cycle times, and improved productivity for small, medium, and large-sized companies, and across four different countries.
Prior to becoming a business performance expert, Dr. Johnson enjoyed a successful career in the biotechnology industry where she developed several multimillion-dollar products like IS CHO-CDTM, EX-CELL® NS0, and the JJ-series of proprietary reagents for companies like Biomarin, Xoma, and Bayer.
Dr. Johnson also led the development of GraphITi, a data capture, analysis, and reporting software that reduced Johnson & Johnson’s data analysis time in the pharmaceutical development department by 99%. Moreover, Dr. Johnson directed a global Risk Management program for Abbott Laboratories where she standardized risk analysis and risk mitigation procedures across the Fortune 500 company’s global operations.
A scholar-practitioner, Dr. Johnson is recognized for her innovation, strategic thinking, leadership, and outstanding performance. She is a subject matter expert on business performance in the private sector and in academia where she has served on numerous academic committees which include the Academy of Management, the Southern Management Association, and the School of Business Curriculum Council for the University of Phoenix.
Dr. Johnson earned a Ph.D. in Organization & Management from Capella University, and M.S. and B.S. degrees in Biology from Louisiana Tech University. She is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. In addition to leading the Johnson advantEDge Institute, Dr. Johnson also serves as a Faculty member with international universities where she teaches graduate and undergraduate level courses that include Data Analytics, Operations Management, Leadership, Strategic Management, Quantitative Research, and Research Methods.
